Security and privacy are the foundation of Pravka. Here is how it works technically.

Everything runs in your browser

Your PDF is never uploaded to a server. All processing — editing, signing, compression, conversion — happens locally in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly.

Password protection

The protect feature uses AES-256 encryption. The password is handled in your browser and never sent to us. If you forget it, it cannot be recovered, because we never store it.

True redaction

The Redact tool physically destroys the content under the black box (the page is rasterized), unlike a white-out box that only covers text. Use Redaction to hide confidential data.

Things to note

• The white-out box and highlighter do not remove the text under them — it stays in the file.
• Only remove a password from documents you are legally entitled to access.
